Fundraising Opportunity

It is probably safe to say that at one time or another everyone has hung on the soccer goals on the Tanglewood playground.  It has been witnessed during running club and, much to my dismay, more times than needed.  I would like for TRC to take part in a fundraising effort to restore the goals or purchase new ones if needed.  We will coordinate with Coach Cox on this venture.  This will allow TRC to apologize and help amend the problem we partially have created.  If we raise this money, my hopes will be that we will think twice before we “jump to hang from the goal”. I also hope the older kids will remind the incoming 3rd graders not to take part in this destructive behavior.

All of TRC members are encouraged to help coordinate this project.  What are needed are some ideas to help raise the funds.  Any ideas are welcome and encouraged.  To kick off the fund raising project TRC will have a yard sale. The yard sale will take place at Ruth Nethery’s Home (3601 Ledgeview Ct.)   The yard sale is scheduled for March 28, 09.   What is needed for this event will be items to sell.  Families can bring goods labeled with prices on Friday March 27, 09.  See below for list of items needed to facilitate sale and scheduled hours of operation for athletes to participate during the yard sale.

Items needed: long tables to display yard sale items, individual drinks/cookies to sell (water, can soft drinks, brownies, cookies) .  Encourage athletes to make items to sale.

We will need 6 worker bees on Friday from 4-6 to help set up for the yard sale.  On Saturday we will need 3 worker bees per two hour shifts to help sell.  One of these workers should be the money keeper and the rest will sell and answer all questions.  The shifts will be a as follows 7:30-9:30;9:30-11:30;11:30-1:30;1:30-3:30.  These shifts will be first come first fill basis.  If more than three want to work together on the shift that is fine.  I will be on site during all activities.

Please help and clean out your closets, bring whatever you can. If you have can goods, hot sauce ,home made pies, etc….you make it we sell it.  Have the athletes put their minds together and think of another way we can raise money to help contribute to our fundraising efforts.
